Getting started
How long does it take to set up Saloonah?
Most salons are fully live within 2 hours. After booking your demo, our team sets up your account — adding your services, staff profiles, and pricing. You don't need to do any technical setup yourself. We stay on the call until your first real booking is placed.
Do I need any hardware or equipment?
Saloonah runs in a web browser — no app download required. Any device with a browser works: iPad, laptop, Android tablet. For POS we recommend a tablet mounted at the counter. For receipts, any Bluetooth thermal printer that pairs with iOS or Android works (we can recommend models for Kuwait).
Can I import my existing customer and booking data?
Yes. If you have customer data in Excel, Google Sheets, or exported from another platform, we import it for you during onboarding. There's no charge for data migration. Just send us the file and we handle the rest.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new salon gets 14 days free, no credit card required. You get access to the full platform with real data. At the end of the trial you choose a plan or you don't continue — no automatic charges.
Bookings
Can two staff members have bookings at the same time?
Yes. The calendar is per-staff — each stylist has their own column. Two different staff members can have overlapping bookings. Double-booking detection only applies within the same staff member's schedule.
How do I mark a customer as a no-show?
Click the booking on the calendar to open the booking detail panel, then click "Mark as No-Show". The booking status updates immediately and the slot opens for rebooking. No-show history is visible in the customer's profile.
Can customers book online themselves?
Yes — public booking is available on the Pro plan. Your salon gets a shareable booking link you can put in your Instagram bio or share with customers. Customers choose a service, time, and staff member. The booking appears in your calendar instantly.
POS & Payments
Does Saloonah support KNET payments?
Yes. KNET is a built-in payment method option on every transaction. You handle the physical KNET terminal as normal — Saloonah records the transaction as KNET paid so your reports and totals stay accurate. We don't process the payment ourselves; we record it.
How do staff commissions get calculated?
Commission is calculated automatically at checkout. Each line item is assigned to a specific staff member (defaulting to whoever is logged in via PIN). The commission rate for that staff member is applied to the line total. You see a full breakdown before completing the sale, and a commission report is available any time in the Reports tab.
Can one transaction have multiple payment methods?
Yes — use "Split" payment mode. You enter two payment methods and two amounts. The amounts must add up to the transaction total before the sale can be completed.
How do I issue a refund?
Open the transaction from the daily sales list or the customer profile, then click "Refund". You can refund the full amount or a partial amount. The transaction status updates to "Refunded" and the amount is excluded from revenue totals.
Inventory
How does stock automatically go down?
When a product is added to a POS transaction and the sale is completed, the stock quantity is automatically reduced by the quantity sold. Services don't reduce stock. Products that are sold as retail items do.
How do I set a low-stock alert?
Each product has a "Low stock threshold" field in its settings. Set it to the quantity at which you want a warning — for example, 5 pcs. When stock drops to or below this number, the product shows an amber "Low Stock" badge in inventory and a warning card appears on your dashboard.
