Privacy Policy — Saloonah

Short version: We collect only what we need to run your salon, we never sell your data, and you can export or delete your data at any time.

1. Who we are

Saloonah is a software product operated from Kuwait. You can reach us via our Contact us page. "We", "our", and "us" in this policy refer to Saloonah.

2. What data we collect

We collect data in two categories:

Account and usage data — information you provide when signing up or using the platform:

Salon name, contact email, phone number, and address
Staff names and roles (PINs are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes — we cannot read your PINs)
Service names and pricing
Booking, transaction, and inventory records
Customer names and contact details you enter for your clients

Technical data — collected automatically when you use the platform:

Browser type, device type, and operating system
IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
Pages visited, features used, and session duration
Error logs and performance data

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Saloonah service:

To operate your salon's bookings, POS, and inventory systems
To send service communications (invoices, account alerts, security notices)
To provide customer support when you contact us
To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
To comply with applicable law in Kuwait

4. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your data — including your customer list — with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Ever.

5. Data sharing

We share data with a small number of service providers who help us operate the platform:

Cloud infrastructure providers — our application and database are hosted on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest.
Twilio — used for SMS notifications (only if your plan includes SMS features).

All providers are contractually required to process data only according to our instructions and applicable data protection laws.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a full export of all data we hold about your salon
Correction — update incorrect or incomplete data
Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
Portability — receive your data in a standard machine-readable format (CSV/JSON)

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete all data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by applicable law (e.g. financial records).

8. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. Staff PINs are stored as bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable in plain text.

9. Cookies

Saloonah uses essential cookies only — for session authentication and platform functionality. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify active users by email if the changes are material.
